MVDS
Multipoint Video Distribution System is a multichannel, multipoint broadcast television distribution service in the Ku-Band (10 GHz – 12 GHz), that is sometimes called Wireless Cable Television (WCATV). The technology allows the delivery of multichannel digital television content via Wireless Broadband TV Transmitters with operating bandwidths of 200 MHz – 300 MHz and transmitting at 20W – 40W RF Power.
MVDS OPERATING PARTNER PACKAGE
ACWS-UBNI proposes to enter into joint venture arrangements with prequalified parties (Operating Partners) who will undertake the required investments to put up MVDS Stations in select areas in the Philippines. The Operating Partners will subsequently operate and maintain MVDS Stations and market MVDS services carrying a common brand. ACWS-UBNI shall be responsible for securing the regulatory approvals (i.e. permits, licenses and frequencies) for the MVDS operations. ACWS-UBNI shall likewise handle all regulatory matters and coordination with the National Telecommunications Commission
MVDS is the terrestrial equivalent of Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite television service and covers typically a radius of 20 km per broadcast transmitter or an area of 1,300 square kilometers. Theoretically, in a line of sight scenario, four (4) strategically located broadband MVDS transmitters can cover an average sized province.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF OPERATING PARTNER
Render a one-time Operating Fee described in the package
Provide the facilities and utilities to house the installation of the MVDS systems including antenna tower, equipment room and generators
Provide the necessary qualified manpower to undertake the operations and maintenance of the MVDS facilities
Undertake the sales, marketing and distribution of MVDS service in the Operating Area both for prepaid and postpaid subscription services
Undertake the collection of sales revenue and billing receivables from customers in the Operating Area
Purchase digital set top boxes for sale to MVDS customers
RESPONSIBILITIES OF ACWS-UBNI
Management of government and regulatory affairs, including procuring and maintaining required operating frequencies, permits and licenses
Supply, install and commission various equipment needed to establish and operate a digital television headend and broadband TV transmitter to broadcast MVDS service in the Operating Area
Provide training for personnel of Operating Partner in the installation, operation and maintenance of Television Headend equipment and MVDS Transmitters
Provide digital marketing support
Provide subscriber management services on behalf of the Operating Partner
Identify and procure the required content and channel programming for the MVDS service
